Jake and Caroline’s November wedding at Raspberry Plain Manor in Leesburg, Virginia was everything you could hope for from a late-fall celebration: deep autumn colors, warm florals, and the kind of personal touches that make a photographer’s heart happy.

One of the most unique things about Raspberry Plain Manor is the view from the back field: in the distance, you can actually see the venue where Caroline’s parents were married. It felt like their family story had come full circle, and photographing the two of them in that very spot added such a sweet layer of meaning to their portraits.

Caroline began her morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, brothers, and father, each of whom got their own first look moment. Every reaction was full of joy, surprise, and happy tears, the kind of energy that sets the tone for the whole day.

For their own first look, Jake and Caroline chose the secret garden tucked behind the manor. Shielded from the wind, they shared private vows among the stone pathways and fall foliage, an intimate pause before the celebration ahead.

Although it was an exceptionally windy November afternoon, the couple’s indoor ceremony ended up being the perfect choice. Warm lighting, seasonal florals, and the cozy atmosphere created a beautiful contrast to the blustery weather outside. The florals in rich fall tones were a perfect extension of the surrounding landscape and exactly the fall-forward aesthetic Jake and Caroline hoped for.

The reception brought all the energy and laughter you could want. One of the most memorable moments came during the welcome toast, when Caroline’s dad jokingly led everyone to believe he was about to sing “Sweet Caroline.” The look on her face before he switched directions was priceless.

From start to finish, Jake and Caroline’s wedding day was filled with heartfelt gestures, gorgeous autumn colors, and so much genuine love. Raspberry Plain Manor provided an elegant and meaningful backdrop, and the fall landscape did exactly what the couple dreamed of: wrapped every photo in the warm glow of November.
